almost 24 hours ago, in sunny Tucson, Arizona. My job with the baseball team at USC has given me some great opportunities but it has also forced me to be economical with my free time and to expect long days like this one.
Unfortunately, a series of storms came through after the first game on Friday and we were unable to play all of our games for the weekend. During the rain delays, I had a lot of time to think about my trip to Guatemala. Before then, I hadn’t been able to fully appreciate what I was about to do and where I was about to go as it had been a whirlwind end to the semester.
As I sat in the locker room, I pulled up our schedule and began to prepare myself for everything I am going to experience here in Guatemala. The anxiety of the people around me was certainly affecting me but the more anxious I felt, the more excited I was.
Sitting here in Guatemala City, I am more excited than ever to get to know my classmates and get on the road to Xela. I can already tell that this is going to be quite the adventure.
